Exclamation 92 Spirit Gas Mileage

Hey i have a 92 dodge spirit and suddenly it seems to be getting about 13 miles to the gallon on gas...i have no clue why i also think the gas guage might be going a little crazy do you have any ideas on how to up my gas mileage/fix my gas guage?!

Have the O2 (oxygen) sensor checked; when it fails, it causes the engine to run rich. Is your exhaust wet and black inside after running? Then it's likely the O2 sensor.

sounds like 02 sensor. cost about $66.00 . I suggest buyin it from dealer.

Get the codes first before spending that much $ to replace something. Could be the coolant temp sensor as well.

Well in my old '92 Spirit V6, I got around 250mi to a tank of fuel. Also, as soon as the car read just below 1/4 tank it would run out! As of gas mileage, try doing a tune-up. With mine I decided to try one of those chips off of E-bay as well. Helped a little bit...but ended up derbying it a cuple weeks later so not sure if it helped or not haha.
