Question 1970-71 ford mustand pricing?

A friend of mine has 2 mustangs. One a 70 the other 71.The 71 was built for racing but street legal same as the other. Both cars has a 350 block engine in them. The 70 is is built/restored to look like the orignal mustang but the other was built to look like the chevy camaro. Both cars need a paint job and new insides. The body's has seen well over 100,000 miles each and the engines about 9,000 each. They have no a/c's,radio's,speakers,seat belts. He's asking $4,000 for the 70 and $5,000 for the 71. Is this a good price for either of them or What since I really don't know. I was thinking to buy one of them since I have family in the auto buss. such as painting and restoring.Feel free to ask a question about the cars and I will try to get the info. Thanks

Re: 1970-71 ford mustand pricing?

Found several restored 70 and 71 Mach 1 Mustangs. The prices ranged from 26,000 to 54,000 so if your mustang that is original is going for 4 or 5 that is a good price especialy if the engines have only 9000 miles on them. I don't think a mustang built to look like a camaro would have much value. Of course, I don't know what was done to make it look like a camaro. So I have to say I dunno. If you are serious about restoration it's not a bad deal.
