98 neon runs great for 10 min
A couple months ago I was driving at 60 miles per hour when my neon lost power. It acted like it was not getting gas. The problem got worse to now it runs great for 10 minutes and then dies. It doesn't matter if the car is idling or doing 60 mph. After 10 minutes it shuts off. An hour later the car starts up great again and the process starts all over. A new fuel pump has been installed but that didn't solve the problem. Also the check engine light doesn't come on so I can't check codes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could be the igniton coil going bad. Sometimes when they heat up, they stop working. Try looking for spark the next time it dies.

Here is how you would test for spark.
- Buy a new spark plug set for your car. Champions are fine they are original equipment. - Remove a spark pug boot from the cylinder head. Plug the new spark plug into the boot. Hold it against the engine block with a pair of rubber handle pliers. Make sure you hold the boot and not the plug. You'll get a vey hefty jolt. ( 20,000 volts) - Have someone crank the engine and look for spark. If there is none move to the other cyl and verify that they do not have spark. - You didn't say the mileage of the car, but it may be good to replace the plugs and wires anyway. good luck. Re: 98 neon runs great for 10 min
On my '98 it was the crankshaft position sensor that was bad, ran for 10 -15 minutes and died, would only restart after engine cooled off. Take it to Auto Zone for a free coding (oh, and on mine she would only code immediately after she died).
