99 Pontiac Grand Am- Heater blower not working HELP
I had the blower replaced in March and now it is only working on high. The lower speeds do not work at all. The blower from March is under warranty and I took it back to the dealer who told me that it was not covered because water was getting into the blower. Does anyone know where/how water is getting into the blower and what I can do to fix it myself? Any suggestions?
I can't afford the 600+ the dealer wants to charge. thanks! |

Re: 99 Pontiac Grand Am- Heater blower not working HELP
Welcome to AF!!
First of all tell the dealer to pound sand. The issue is not the blower itself but the blower motor resistor. The resistor is a $45 part that can be changed in about an hour. The key is the fact that the blower is working on 5 and not on the other speeds. If you have a few hand tools you can change it yourself but the dealer is crazy. |

Re: 99 Pontiac Grand Am- Heater blower not working HELP
Thier is a procedure in the Tips and Maintenace section for the blower resistor replacement.
The water is leaking in where the wipers are or your drain is clogged. You can remove the cowel which covers in air inlet and see where it could be leaking. The drain is visible from the fire wall , pass side, should be a pic in the Blower thread. Sometimes things make nests in there and then the water cant drain. Good Luck
