1998 bonneville, She won't start!!
My husband and I have been working on our bonneville for the past 2 months and have problems. Had it at the mechanics about 2 months ago and he thought it could be fuel pump, diagnostics came out ok. He changed coils, and we brought home and it ran for about 2 weeks. We decided to change the fuel pump, clean out gas tank, fuel relay, checked relay box, checked fuses...
It will turn over, but not start. It isn't getting fuel and we cannot hear the hum of the pump. We had fuel pump replaced just in case and still nothing. The interior door locks, lights and power windows are not working correctly either. Any ideas are welcome. We are stumped and BROKE! I used up all my AAA tows in the past 2 months on this car and live about 25 miles from my mechanic so cannnot afford to tow. Please help before I pull my hair out!! Thanks for reading. |

Welcome to AF. Remove the front lt hand outer sill plate, lift up the carpet and open up the harnesss in that area, you will find a ground splice that is corroded, this will kill the windows and fuel pump.

Thank you, thank you!!!! That did it! It was full of tar/glue or something. My hubby was so happy when he came home and found that I got her running. Those pictures really helped as I could not find much about that in my book! I am so happy I found this forum. Thanks again Chrissy
