ABS/TRAC, P/S Whine

Hi yes my name is volvo... But my brother owns a 97 ssei rocket. he has a couple of problems.
ONE. Randomely ABS/TRACS dummy lights come on. no notisable difference in braking. top up fluid, seems less intementent but still happens.
TWO. P/S Whine, stiffer steering.
It seems as tho when the ABS/TRACS lights are on the P/S acts up otherwise everthing works great. Do these systems work together in any way or is it just a mind screw up thinking it hapens together? Please help!

The ABS and PS have nothing to do with each other. You will need to have an ABS capable scanner to point you in the right direction on the ABS issue, too many things can go wrong with that system to guess at what the issue is. Have you checked the PS fluid level? If the fluid checks ok, suspect the pump.

Thanks man.. but is there any reason why the Whine happins intermitently. He cant find a reason, fluid is good: smell, colour, level. If a pump was failling would it wine all the time?

No, it depends on heat & load.
