Wont start when warmed up

Seems like when I go someplace whether it's a mile or 10 miles, my geo 4 cyl won't start sometimes. If I leave it and come back later it's starts right off. If I spray starter fluid into the carburetor, it will start and dye when the starting fluid runs it's coarse. No spray of fuel from carburator when this happens. Yesterday it started, then I switched the fuel pump relay and now it won't start. Today it starts ok. Loose wire? Plug terminal? Any idea's?

Re: Wont start when warmed up

Could be a plugged fuel filter or fuel pump assy causing the problem. I think the filter is only serviceable by replacing the pump.

Re: Wont start when warmed up

Thanks for the reply. I monitored the voltage at the relay and noticed that power to the fuel pump is getting to it. Can I access the wiring to the fuel pump to check to see if voltage is getting to it. Could it have something to do with the injector itself like not getting power from the ecm?

You may be getting TOO MUCH gas...check your plugs & go from there
