98PA water pump

Has anyone changed a water pump on a 98PA? I have one boly on the far left side that is behind the pulley on the power steering that I cannot remove. Any suggestions?

Re: 98PA water pump

According to the Haynes it may be necessary to remove the power steering pump (without disconnecting the hoses) or to remove a long bolt through an access hole in the frame rail. Hope this helps

Re: 98PA water pump

You need to remove the two 13mm bolts from the PS pump and slide it aside. The one bolt behind the PS pulley is accessible from the holes in the pulley.

Re: 98PA water pump

Thanks for the help, I removed the PS pump via the holes in the pulley and had complete access to the water pump and all is running without any leaks.

Thanks again
