Lookin at buyin' an 86 f150...please read and share wisdom

So i found an '86 F150 4x2 for sale with minimal outside rust however rockers and cab corners need some help.

It has f150 4x2 badging with an overdrive emblam on the tailgate.

Straight six with a 3 speed/overdrive MANUAL transmission.

I have not heard it run or driven it yet but would like as much info as anyone has, especially on the trans. I know the 4.9s are bulletproof and the only flaws i've come up with are a possible loose carb. Anything else to be aware about on a engine this old?

Mainly the trans. I have a 4/od (mazda trans) in a '89 Bronco but i've never seen a 3/od, but i've never really gone this far back in years.

The trucks only like 800 bucks but i still don't want it to blow up in the first 2 weeks of owning it.
