it is the driveshaft, either the flex joint or the driveshaft central support bearing.... this car is a 1998 740il , it has been making a very loud clicking/thumping sound when accelerating, or making turns it is loudest but can here it a little bit at all times
i need to find out where i can get a repair manual for this car, if any place carries them in stock, most online places take like 2 weeks to get it and i need my friggin car before that lol |

Re: ok pin pointed where grinding clicking sound on demon bimmer, now what?
If she clunks or thumps, or, jumps a bit when accelerating (especially from a dead stop) I would suspect either the center bearing or the drive shaft itself. On my '88 750 it was the shaft that was bad but on some the center may be the culprit. The Bentley is the bible for service and i have never seen one at Barnes and Noble or Borders, bought mine from Amazon online, may also find them on Ebay, in eityher case, there is a wait.
