Head lights
is there anyway to fix the dull plastic head light covers, short of replacing. On a 97grand marquis. I heard that you can maybe using rubbing compound?

Re: Head lights
Real fine compound works great. If you have an electric buffer, it makes job a lot faster and easier. Be careful as the plastic burns easily. There are kits out there that you can buy, but the rubbing compound works just fine.

Re: Head lights
I used auto polish and rubbed it on by hand. It did a fine job. The wife had a minor accident and broke one once. I think the dealer got about $80 for the part.

Re: Head lights
I worked ina wrecker yard and had to polish the beacons every so often and I used a product by 3M in a black bottle labeled as plastic polish and it worked great.

Re: Head lights
I just replaced the headlights on my 97. It was under $80 each with shipping. Came with bulbs too. What a difference.
