2002 gt starts but immediately dies

Hey guys, I'm at a loss here. In the morning as of late I've been having issues keeping my car running. Here goes. I go to start the car I can hear the fuel pump running. Then I go to start the car.

Now the car will start when the key is in the on position but once I let it go and it automatically goes back to the acc position the car dies. If I hold the key in the on position the car will stay running. I can rev it up and everything but once I let it go it dies.

Any help is appreciated.

yeah does sound like your ignition switch is flakin out.

thier is a test procedure in the Tips and Maintenance section, it also has the removal/install procedure.

Re: 2002 gt starts but immediately dies

Ok I thought that might be it but wasn't really sure. I also thought maybe the starter but it would have made a hissing or screeching sound if it was the starter right? I'm gonna do some more research and probably test it tomorrow night as soon as I get home from work. That way I can fix it during the weekend. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks for the suggestions.
