Question Looking for a project...

I'm a junior in high school now, and will be moving away in 3 years for my last years of college. I'd like to have a car that's much better than my '94 Subaru Loyale wagon... preferably a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT or a Nissan 300ZX or 350Z.

Finding these cars (or similar) at a price I can afford will be near impossible. However, I would be willing to repair/restore a car if I could find something that has been in a non-totaling crash. My father's a mechanic, and I'm fairly mechanically oriented, so where could I find a car that I'm looking for that won't break the bank?

Also, I'm in southern Idaho. Finding something I like around Hicksville adds a certain element of difficulty.

Please help!
