2006 escape power steering fluid?
My mother has a 2006 Ford Escape, front wheel drive, 4 cylinder. She doesn't drive much 5K miles per year or less.
Sunday I noticed the power steering fluid was low, below the "low mark" I went to Auto zone and picked up a bottle of Prestone Power Steering fluid but I didn't put in new fluid because I'm afraid is not the correct kind.
The Ownes Giude list part number # XT-2-QDX (Motorcraft MERCON ATF).
Should I use ford power steering fluid or can I use the one from autozone? Also, is the loos of fluid normal?
