how do you remove the spring loaded belt tensioner
I replaced my serpatine belt on my 95 pontiac 2.2 L ohv engine the other day I need to change the spring loaded tensior but I am not sure if there are any special tools needed and if you just go counterclockwise instead. I had to go clockwise to release tension in the belt so I would go the opposite way? Is there a certain way to clean the other pulleys with out having to remove them? I noticed that there was some rust deposits on the pulleys could this cause the belt to not move smoothly along the pulleys?
Thank You |

Re: how do you remove the spring loaded belt tensioner
It should be held on by two bolts. I haven't done mine but it looks like it could be a pain. good luck and let us know how it goes.
