94 bonneville- code EST not toggling??
My daughters 94 bonneville is driving me crazy! When I first got it, it was having idle probloms. As sugested on this forum, I replaced the TPS. A few days later it the transmision starts jerking going down the road. Check engine light is on. Autozone and napa couldnt figure out the what scan tool to use. After researching I bought an actron super autoscanner cp9145. Come to find out I have an obd1 pcm with obd2 connectins and codes. This is where the parts stores were confused. Any way... I was getting codes for bad nuetral safety switch, cam sensor intermident signal, low signal TPS, ingition timing / EST not toggling. I replaced the cam sensor, the nuetral safety switch, the pigtail connector on the TPS.
After all this I am still getting a acode about ignition timing-EST not toggling. This happens after running down the road a bit, then the check engine light will come on and it bogs down and has poor performance...If you shut it off and restart, the light goes off and it runs fine untill the next episode. What can I replace or repair to effect the est toggling properly? |

Re: 94 bonneville- code EST not toggling??
This usually is caused by the ign module or the connections at the module, but without a full scan with a high line scanner to look at all the inputs this is an educated guess. To be sure post the exact code, which in reality you should always do when requesting this type of assistance.

When you run the codes, does the scan tool display a P0361 or P1361?
