Speedometer jumping+loud banging from dashboard (1971 Fury III)
Hello,
Im after a quick bit of advice for my newly bought slightly rough 1971 Plymouth Fury III. On the drive home the speedo started wobbling, then dropped out altogether and now jumps about in time with a loud banging which increases with frequency with the wheels turning, not the engine revs. Noise seems to be coming from dashboard/transmission area rather than engine. Gearbox+engine both working perfectly. Anybody got any ideas what it is or how to fix it? It seems to be a fairly minor thing- something to do with the cable running from the gear box possibly? (if thats how it works?) Any advice much appreciated, Thanks a lot Jon |

The cable is likely needing to be lubed or replaced.
