03 Envoy HVAC and fan control problems

Last year, our HVAC started to run sporatically. Sometimes it runs cold and other times it is just like I turned the AC button off, but did not. It appears as though the AC is turning itself off as the windows immediately start to fog up then suddently it comes back on and clears. I also lost setting 1,2,and 4 of my fan speed controls. 3 and 5 still work though. Any suggestions? Would these issues be related if there is an issue with the fan control module?

The blower relay/speed control is bad, (for the fan speeds), mounted on the blower case under the dash, l/s of glove box. The cooling issue is something else, when this happens see if the compressor is running/ or not.
