2007 Shelby Cobra
Hello Every body,
Thanks for the great forum. This is my first post here. I'm working on a 2007 Shelby Cobra and the problem is that there is vibration in the back of the vehicle during the acceleration in the first gear. I left the vehicle up and drive it and there wasn't any vibration is that means that the problem is in the suspension not in the Manual transmissin or more likely the clutch because the suspension looks brand new and its intact although, the vehicle had an accident a while ago in the right rear side but, it was fixed and as I already said every thing now looks intact. I also have another request. I work on regular Mustangs vehicle from along time and I have a good experiance on them but this Shelby Cobra is really different even the release mechanism is hydrolic not mechanical. My request is how can I remove the transmission and the clutch because every thing seems to be high that my hand can't even reach. Can anybody give me the procedure and if possible with pictures. Please try your best to help me and thanks again for this forum. Last edited by CoOoOol; 06-21-2008 at 05:12 PM. |

Re: 2005 Shelby Cobra
Was the rear wheel checked after the crash to make sure it wasn't bent?

Re: 2005 Shelby Cobra
It sounds like this should be under warranty?? Removing the tranny is not the easiest thing to do. I would suggest trying some of the other more specific forums such as Corral or SVT Performance. There are some very knowledgeable people over there. I think this should be the 6-speed Tremec and it has a traditional tranny/bellhousing set up as opposed to some of the 5-speeds that have integrated tranny/bellhousings that have to be removed as an assembly. The top starter bolt is a bear to get to and you need lots of extensions.
Otherwise, I think it's a "normal" tranny removal. You have to remove the H-pipe and drive shaft, of course. |
