1997 blazer trying to start by its self

i know this sounds crazy but the other day i was in the house heard something went outside and my 1997 s10 blazer the engine was turning over by its self went and checked the switch but it was off had to take battery cable off 1st thing i thought of was solenoid switch change it put battery cable back on and samething as soon as i put cable on it started turning over again so then i thought maybe the ignition switch so i unpluged it where it goes down under the dash and still turns over when i hook battery cable up
can anyone help

Any remote starts or add on anti theft stuff on it?
Ant electrical work been done on it?
Unless the starter solenoid is stuck on.
The only way for the starter to turn itself on if for voltage getting to the purple start wire to starter.
Check for 12 volt on it at wire to starter and then work back threw relay and start fuse and on threw neutral safety switch to ign switch.
May have a wire shorted someplace along the line.

Might be worth taking a quick peek at the starter itself to see if the purple wire is making contact with the main battery cable.

there is no remotes r anything on it i will trace the wire back and try and find a short thanks for your help

Tap relay and then pull relay and see if it breaks the circuit or keeps starter from running all of the time.
If relay is good a good place to check starter circuit is at relay.

Geez, does your truck hates you that much, it wants to take off all on its own.... ...ok bad joke.... back to the problem...

You have a '97 model year which has been plagued with ignition switch/wiring issues. If wiring looks good, I would be looking closely at the ignition switch.

Center rear of engine compartment.

Also the start fuse is a good place to check circuit.
If pulling it kills circuit look on toward ign switch.
Start fuse is in the circuit between ign switch and neutral safety switch.

Has the Ignition switch been replaced?

Jiggle the key in the switch , turn it on and off a few times, and see what happens.

ok pulled the fuse and it is still turning over without fuse in

Ok that rules out ign switch and wiring on switch to fuse,
Does the fuse plugin have voltage on one side?
Now go back to relay and pull it and see what it does with relay pulled.
Make sure you are pulling starter relay.
If it still does it with relay pulled the problem is on towards starter in wiring shorted or starter solenoid or the small purple start wire shorted to battery at starter solenoid.

Does the start fuse plugin have voltage on one side without ign in start position?
The only thing between relay and start fuse is the neutral saftey switch on a auto matic transmission.
Unplug it and see if it breaks the circuit.
Also with it unpluged go to start fuse and check for any 12 volts on it.
Also at relay plug in check how many plugs have voltage.
