Electronic level control system

I read that the electronic level control system may not work properly in the Devilles. This results in the rear air lifts providing either too much or too little air flow. Also there may be leaks in the air suspension system, which causes the compressor to run continuously and then burn up.
While waiting in traffic today, I heard the air compressor in my Cadi kick on about every minute. It stayed on for about 3 to 4 seconds. So I have a leak in the system somewhere.
Anyone have experience with this issue? Did you have to replace the rear shock absorbers?

Most likely the cause is a leak in one of the lines. Wipe them down with soapy water and look for bubbles. Caddy dealers sell a splice kit to do the repair.

I put the Cadi on jack stands over the weekend and looked for the air leak. I used the soapy water like you mentioned and found the air leak at the air line entrance to the compressor. Actually, I could hear the air leak. The electronic level control compressor for the rear shock absorbers is on the passenger side behind the rear wheel. I unplugged the air lines, inspected, cleaned, and re-assembled them. Problem solved. Easy repair that didn't cost me a penny.
