Question S4 and Pole buttons

I have a 1988 Honda Legend with automatic transmission. Could somebody please tell me what S4 & POLE buttons mean?

Re: S4 and Pole buttons

From what i believe the S4 button is basically like over drive. It allows for more power, however, it provides better fuel economy. Basically an option for highway driving, or perhaps, towing a trailer.
