'97 Cav. A/C prob's.

Hi, folks...1st, I'm nev to the Cav. forum...since gas prices went up, I went with Geo Metros....I've been on that forum for several yrs, but since my Metro died (temporarily...got to weld in a new front end), I picked up a '97 Cav, 2.2, 4spd. auto. Love it...very quiet & smooth compared to my Metros...I'd had several Cav's in the past & had good luck with them (& anything else with a bow tie on it)...wish the gas went a little farther. (my daily commute is 104 miles)
Here's my problem....A/C light comes on when I hit the compressor button, but that's it. Tried switching relay w/ fuel pump...relay is good. Thought the charge might be low, so I shot in a 12oz. can of castrol 134a/sealent/lubricant, hoping that, as I shot it in, that the clutch would engage when the pressure came up. (I have to do this every spring w/ my '95 Metro, so this is nothing new to me)...it did not.
There is no voltage @ the clutch. What I would like to do next is check the pressure switches, but I CAN'T FIND THEM. I'm assuming that there is a high pres. & low pres. switch, & that they both must be closed for the clutch to engage. (I DO NOT have the "good" gauges, but from experience, I could tell by how the can of castrol went in that the system was not very low) Any and all help, tips, advice you can come up with would be GREATLY appreciated...thans in advance....doug7x
OH YEAH...I did try searching this forum for a similar thread, & I found one (I thought)...ended up replying to a post on the Blazer forum.(LOL)...those folks pointed out my foolishness & suggested that I re-post here. Thanks again.
