03 aztek igntion and gauges

have an 03 Aztek, could not turn key back to off poss, fially found out that their is a release button under the colum. There are 3 holes under the colum take the plug out of the hole closest to the key, and take a writing pen and push up to release the lock, and turn key back and out. After taking to dealer found out that it was A broked wire in the shift colum, It was A purple wire.
All my gauges in the dash stoped working like the gas, tack, speed, and temp, found out that it is the gauge cluster, and needs to be replaced. Dealer wants $650 to fix. But found on E-bay you can buy the cluster for around $100.
