I have a few good pictures of the seat used in the Mclaren, but i was wondering if anyone had some pics of the seat out of the car? I have a shot beneth the seat showing the monuting and lower surface, but nothing of the back. Does anyone have some they can share? I would really appreciate it. Also if anyone wants my pictures PM me and i will try and e-mail them out to you since i have no clue how to upload pictures. Thanks for you help guys!! Have a good one.

Re: seat pictures

Awesome those are great pics. I didn't know they had the chassis plaque on the back of the seats too! I guess you learn somthing new everyday. Although this brings on two more questions. Which cars have the bare carbon seats and how many have that black coating/painted. And how far apart are the two frame rails? Per my 1/12 model it looks like they are about 16-17 inches apart.

Thanks so much for sharing with me...and greg you have a e-mail from me about an unrelated thread.

Re: seat pictures

The plaque on the back side of the seat is not a chassis plate. I believe it might have something to do with the size of the seat, but that's just my speculation. If that's true, I am somewhat surprised that it is so prominently displayed. You would think they could have made it less noticeable.

Okay - scratch all that extra nonsense I said about seat sizing. I thought that I had seen different numbers on some of those plaques, but it appears they are all the same.

"E" Mark and "e" Mark (Homologation for vehicles / vehicle components)
In Europe, there are two parallel systems for the certification of motor vehicles and their components:

EU (European Union) directives and
http://ECE (Economic Commission for ...) regulations.
EMC of vehicle sub assemblies - "e" Mark

"E" Mark
The "E" mark is based on ECE regulations issued by the Economic Commission for Europe, which is based in Geneva. It is an organizational part of the UN and the members are EU countries and many others. Therefore, the acceptance of approved components is much broader, especially in the eastern part of Europe. It is necessary to confirm whether a particular country has accepted (signed) the application of an ECE-regulation; as the application it is not mandatory for the countries.

And I continue to learn new things every day, just like you are supposed to...
