89 Deville - dash lights flashing ?

My dash lights will flash off & on a few times. Then the digital Climate Control and Fuel Data Center will display c then d. the defroster and heat go on high. I think I have a bad connection somewhere, any idea's where to start looking ? I can reset everything by disconnecting the battery or putting a charger on for a while.

I have a 90 deville and i have the same problem with mine if anybody could help me out also. My lights had blinked for a long time and when it stopped blinking the digital screen on the fuel data center and climate control center stopped working. it turned to a d just like that and now I have no fuel data center or climate control. I had replaced both of the component's from the junk yard because I had a diagnostic test done and he said that was the problem so we replaced them and it did not fix the problem and i changed the computer and that did not fix it either what do u think the problem could be?

I am having similar problems PLEASE help!!! I replaced battery (new), worked fine for a couple of hours then dash lights started blinking and then lost all dash lights (ie speedometer, ect), shortly after car died. I have a new alternator (6mo old), I think it may be a bad connection somewhere someone said to check the alternator fuse???? never heard of this, any help would be great help

Often, the weird display issues are a result of insufficient voltage supplied to various components. This can be due to a weak battery, dirty connections at both ends of the battery cables, dirty or loose grounds, or corrosion under the insulation of the battery cables themselves. It can also be due to a bad connection where various harnesses plug into the computer itself. You might want to examine these things.

When my 89 DeVille experienced all these symtoms, I was told it was the main computer module? I had it replaced (very expensive) but it fixed the problems. Good luck.
