'92 Bonneville SE, Crack but no Start

I have a 1992 Bonneville SE which runs good, until i turn it off. When the engine is hot or even warm, the car will crank without the intention of starting. Sometimes I'll wait 2 minutes or 3 hours without it starting. I replaced the fuel pump thinking that was the cause with no luck. I pulled up ECM Codes 17 and 58. The fuel lines aren't clogged, air and fuel filter new, I get spark, wires and plugs all new. fuel pressure regulator relitivly new. Any help would be greatly appreciatied. From the codes i have reason to believe it is the Transmission Temperature Switch, if so I have no idea where to find it.

Any codes? Two thing that are heat sensitive on this engine, are the CKPS and ICM. Do you have spark when it does not start?

Yes, I have spark. The ignition coils are brand new along with the wires and plugs. The codes i pulled up are 17, 26, and 58.

Re: '92 Bonneville SE, Crack but no Start

Has the engine ever died while driving, or is the problem always after you turn off the ignition and then try to restart?

Code 17
1 flash, pause, 7 flashes
PCM did not detect any spark reference pulses within 240 fuel control reference pulses (80 crank revolutions) while engine was running below 1200 RPM. Spark Reference Circuit.

Code 26
2 flashes, pause, 6 flashes
Quad-Driver sense voltage shows a low voltage when battery voltage should be present, or if the sense voltage shows battery voltage when a low voltage should be present for at least 5 seconds when the engine was running. Have the car checked by a dealer.

Code 58
5 flashes, pause, 8 flashes
This is for the fuel enable security system, or the pass-key system and usually can be ignored unless you have security related issues.

Re: '92 Bonneville SE, Crack but no Start

The engine has never died while driving. After i turn the engine off it if i try to restart it right away it will start, but if i leave it off for about 20 minutes then it wont start unless the lord almight says so. Now i looked up the codes myself and found code 17 could be an ECM problem, which i believe is true because it makes weird sounds at the ECM. Also i found code 58 could be the transmission temperature switch which i have no idea where that would be. And could you please simplify what parts your code definitions go for so i could check them. The quicker i fix my car the quicker i can get back to work as a delivery driver.
