95 Aurora died, looking for advise?

My daughter called on Friday and my Aurora quit on her. She said it didn't die right away, but the rpms would get only high enough for here to get into a parking place. I stopped and it started right up, I held the rpm's at about 1500 and they slowly dropped. Then wouldn't start again, I changed the fuel filter and ordered a fpr, but it won't be in until Tuesday. It seem's to be fuel related, I can hear the fuel pump running and then stopping when pressure builds. I checked the coils and there is spark, that's what makes me think it's fuel related.

What's happened to the Aurora Club of North America's website, the link take me to a home page for a bunch of website's.

Any one else have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bobg

Re: 95 Aurora died, looking for advise?

Here is my advice. Get rid of the POS as quickly as possible. Don't be overly concerned about taking a loss. These cars are problematic to say the least. Look at the number of posts on this car by people pleading for help or relief from the nightmare that is the Aurora. It didn't sell that well. But, it is second only in posts in the Oldsmobile section to the cutless that sold a WHOLE lot more and wasn't, by and large, that dependable a car itself.

Sorry I can't help you with your mechanical problem but, if you heed my advice, you will have recieved greater value.

A past victim of the nightmare that is the Aurora.

No wonder GM is quickly becoming a second rate car manufacturer.

Look for bad fuel pump. Unlike other poster, I'm approaching 150K. SOME Aurora's had problems not all. Check fuel pressure regulator also. Very simple fix...
