K&N intake results??
I was wondering if anyone has installed the K&N air intake system into their SC1. I have a 2001 SC1 manual SOHC with 75,000 miles on it. I was wondering what kind of results people had by adding this to their car. I already get around 35-37 mpgs without the A/C on all the time. I'm just looking to get more mpgs because these gas prices are killing me with my hour drive to and from work. Any other suggestions besides the K&N air intake for better mpgs are welcome also. Thanks!

Re: K&N intake results??
an intake will decrease mileage. The colder the air the more fuel thats mixed with it. They do make Warm Air Intakes, however its the same as a Short Ram Air intake, and really is NO different than the stock intake. It just looks cooler. If you want to increase your mpg, start off with basics. Replace your ECTS with a brass one as not all 2001 s-series came with it. Next, replace your tires. Ive found Michelin X radials increase mpg by around 2 mpg. Tho they are on the expensive side, they pay for them selves in weeks. Next would be driving habits. After that, making sure the car is tuned (plugs, wires, PCV valce, TB cleaning, etc etc). I get around 38 in the '02 and 36 with the '01
