Alternator 1997 Rodeo 3.2
I have read a lot of posts about the need for just the right alternator for certain late 1996 & 1997 Rodeos. Mine was manufactured in Sept. 1996. It is a 3.2 V6 If anyone knows for sure where I can get good replacement alternator for my Rodeo please reply. I am looking for a high degree of confidence that it will work. I know the Autozone alts just won't do the job. Must I get a new one or will a rebuilt Bosch from NAPA do? What about the reman Beck/Arnley from Advanced Auto Parts(Parts America No. 1860869)?
Thanks Jack |

Re: Alternator 1997 Rodeo 3.2
Just get the Napa rebuild. I really can figure what all the hype is about with 'just the right alternator'. Volts are volts. Amps are amps.

Re: Alternator 1997 Rodeo 3.2
You probably saw my thread, then. The rebuilt I got from Advance didn't work (lights dimming after a 3 mile drive, battery and brake lights back on), but the NAPA alt has been great for 2 years.

Thanks FL 3.2. Do you remember which NAPA alt you got. There are several listed.

When I called them they asked if I wanted new or rebuilt. I said new. Here is the link to my thread:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ght=alternator EDIT: I see they offer a "new" alt on their website. I don't have the part#.
