need help on reseting theft system on my 03 Malibu

Hi:

I own a 2003 Chevy Malibu, and somehow, the theft system got activated, and the car won't start, this happened about a year ago and a Mechanic friend came over and reset it from within the car, I don't know how he did it and I'd like to know if somebody knows how this is done, please help

It's designed to reset itself after 20 minutes.

Lots of fun when it happens when you're waiting in line and you turn the car off, just to have this happen.

Probably the first sign of your ignition lock cylinder headed south. It's a problem with all '97-'03 Malibus, that GM never got around to fixing over the years.

Re: need help on reseting theft system on my 03 Malibu

Thanks fot the info.
I tried a trick I read on another thread for getting a car to start.
I turned the ignition switch on and waited about ten minutes untill the light on the left quit blinking, then I turned the ignition swicth back off, removed and reinserted thekey and turned the car on, It worked like a charm, I was afraid I had to have my car towed to the dealer and spend lots of time on this deal.
you guys are great!!!!!!
