fuel gauge not registering with 2001 gmc jimmy

hey everyone, my fience has a 2001 v6 jimmy 4x4 auto, we are having a problem with the gas gauge. it's not working. we changed the fuel pump and fuel filter and it doesnt work, the relay is not bad either. what could it be? he read that there is a button or something that you can push to reset it. is this true? or where is it? help us!!!

There is no reset button or relay in the guage circuit. If it indicates empty, there is a short circuit to ground. If it reads full, there is an open circuit. Did the guage work properly before you replaced the fuel pump module?

ya the same thing happened with my 99 gmc jimmy and i had to put a new sending unit and 2 new fuel pumps

you should have asked the mechanic who changed the pump to check the sending unit before he put it back together.
