Re: Integra Type R (DC5)

Nice and clean build, and the color combo is good, it looks hot in white with the red accents in the interior. Good photography also.

Anyway, what are the + / - of this kit? I'm thinking about building one...

Re: Integra Type R (DC5)

Thanks, i really like the original type R scheme which is red & white

okay good thing is that this kit is easy to built, fitting are quite ok, though not perfect, not much flash, side signal & rear brake lamp are separated in clear plastic, if you like DC5 is ok to buy it, this is a Fujimi, not sure bout other maker, but if you do buy this Fujimi DC5 here's what i think is BAD:

1) front headlight looks fake, i have to mod a bit, fitting slighty off so as the rear lamp
2) interior is way too simple, almost nothing... i scratch built red side door panel and rear speaker
3) window a bit thick and most under panel detail are mold together
4) wheel are too small and lousy (there's alot of variation though)
5) front emblem and grill are mold together, looks fake again
6) rear bumper reveal a very obvious seamline which is not like the real car
7) the kit is quite diff from the box visual (in my case the wheel is diferent)

Thanks mate! It looks it is close to the new Civic type R I'm currently building: no interior details on the door panels, I started to scratchbuild them like you did. Rims (and brakes) are way too undersized, grilles and chassis details are mold together. I was afraid of hear this as I thought it would make me not to build one. Thanks though!

Nice work. It isn't easy to make this bad kit look that good. I like it.

Re: Integra Type R (DC5)

superb completion. Among, if not the, best dc5 I've seen.

Well done.

i'm bulding a revell RSX (which is pretty much the same car)
here's some good + bad

GOOD:
- full engine + underbody
- metal exhaust tip
- choices of rims, bumpers, seats + stuff
- interior seems to be better than fujimi's
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=901759
i don't have the best painting skills... but you can kind of compare
- side panels have details
- hood + front bump shape looks more accurate?

BAD:
- badly simplified headlights + rear lights
(the rear lights are just 2 clear red plastic over a chrome plate)
(which means u have to do some surgery to have backup lights)
- solidly molded grills... (both the one with emblem and the lower one)
- i can't get the body to fit on to the chassis nicely... maybe my problem?
- wheels (the rubber) are shiny....
- wipers are molded on to the body....
- exhaust tip looks a little oversized
- front wheels cannot steer (solid metal axle)
- side miirrors are mounted to high OOB... but is easy to fix

i haven't finished it yet... so i can't comment on the windows + stuff
but... revell is a lot cheaper... and it has an engine...
