Re: Fog Lights????
I have a 99 Grand Prix SE. Since the day I bought the car the driver side foglight has been burnt out. I recently started looking into it and noticed that the lense has melted. I'm wondering if my light assembly is not grounded properly. My drivers side head light keeps flaking out too. Any tips for figuring out some solutions?

Re: Fog Lights????
Welcome to AF.
Did you purchase it new or used? On the fog lights what wattage is the bulb you took out? Stock is only around 27 watts. If higher wattages lamps are used like 38-50 watt it may melt the lens.

Re: Fog Lights
Well I bought the car used with about 89,000 miles on it. It's been a great car except for the power windows and the lights.
As far as the fog lights go I can't get the bulb out to see what it is. The lense has been melted since I bought it. I can't get them out to save my life. I've tried accessing them from the bottom with the car on ramps and I've also removed the headlights to access them from the top. I see 2 screws, a plastic wing nut attached to a spring the runs to the back of the lamp and then the wire connector. Today I was able to remove the wire connection, but the bulb assembly did not come out. All I've got is what looks like the female end of a plug. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? |
