97 Firebird Auto V6 - Hesitation

Hey guys,

Under heavy acceleration from a stop, right around 2.5-3k rpm, she'll sort of just stop accelerating and maintain a constant speed (tach stays steady). Depressing the accelerator pedal further does not affect anything, it seems. After a few seconds of this lagging, she'll take off. Funny thing is, it's not a constant problem, it'll occur hot or cold, several times or not at all.

She has about 92k on her. Plugs and wires were done about 10k miles ago, replaced my fuel filter about a week ago. The problem manifested itself sometime between these two events. Everything is stock except the air filter box, which I dumped in place of a K&N cone (issue existed prior). Fuel pump sounds perfectly normal when priming.

I had the codes scanned at Schuck's after my CEL inexplicably turned on. I don't remember the exact code that came up, but it was something along the lines of the evap system was purging when it shouldn't be. They told me it wasn't anything serious and that it would not affect driveability. I did not have the code cleared, and the CEL turned itself off after I replaced my fuel filter.

Any ideas? TPS comes to mind, based on similar posts, but could this be EGR related as well, based on the code?

Thanks.
