82 riviera wiring issue

I have an 82 riviera with the 5.0 307. the parking lights do not come on, I bought a new light switch and they still do not come on, when you hit the brakes the dash lights and parking lights come on. Is there a relay or something that could be bad, and if so where is it located.

Re: 82 riviera wiring issue

Hi Onebad...

Well it's June and I see that no one has responded to your post. Do you still need help?

I haven't checked in to this site very much because it's hard to find '79-'85 Riv owners and their questions (and answers to them). If you still need help, get a Hayne's repair manual for our cars and we can go from there. This is so we can be on the same "page" when we talk to each other.

Right now, off the top of my head, it sounds like a feedback problem that can be solved relatively easily.

If you've already fixed your problem, let me know what caused it okay?

Best would be to post here so others can benefit, but if you want, my E-mail address is:
