1st experience w/ a Lancer

Thought I'd drop by the forum and let you guys know I'm currently renting a 2003 Lancer ES. I'm a Honda owner and always wanted to test drive one of these cars. My car is currently in the body shop getting some repairs done. Unfortunately, all the rental car place had was an automatic. I was very impressed w/ the handling and suspension of the car. It handled well and it seemed like I could almost "feel the road." I can't wait until the Evo comes over to the US. It is supposed to be in Januaray right, or did they set the date back? Just wanted to give you Mitsubishi owners some props!

The swap is nice! It is a good sleeper! I had a minor fender-bender w/ a Corvette, that is why my car is in the shop I've got a carbon fiber hood on the way though, so it will be lookin' pretty good......I should be getting a paint job pretty soon too by the end of the year. Going turbo seems more fun though!

Is the 2003 Lancer ES AWD?

no, it isnt AWD, that would be nice if it was...... my friend just got a CF hood on his 97 HB SIR-II swapped EK and he has some sick Mugen rims....i personally think civics are great cars, especially when they are JDM or fixed up cleanly.

How much did he pay for the swap? It would be nice to have a j-spec engine. I plan on getting it painted after I get the silver paint code for the Nissan Skyline. I think carbon fiber on silver will look smooth as hell!

Just thought I'd share my first Lancer experience with you blokes.
I bought an Evo VI GSR without even having driven one, I just knew it would kick ass!!
Kinda risky but i am so pleased i did!!
The power is unbelievable, when u plant it at about 200kmh, u reach 250 in like no time at all, i love it so much!!

the ride is awesome, but you do tend to get some tramlining....which can be annoying when ur tryin to pass a truck in the wet at 150kmh!!!

Anyway, if you boys ever get the chance, if you haven't already done so, drive an Evo!!!

Cheers!!
