2001 GTP Forgot where wires go on new Ignition Harness
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
I am changing the ignition switch harness, from old to new. The new ignition switch harness does not have the two wires; one black, the other white with a black stripe on it. What I need to know is; the manual key release has the two wires that went to the old ignition switch harness. I removed the two wires from the old switch harness and don't remember where to insert them into the new switch harness down at the connection where you unplug it from the 7mm connection. Can anyone help? Does anyone have the schematic? |

Re: 2001 GTP Forgot where wires go on new Ignition Harness
The black wire goes to ground. The termination point for the white/black wire is at the center console park lock switch via whatever pin located at the ignition switch connector. D3? See post below in which the wiring should be correct for at least '97-'00 models.

Re: 2001 GTP Forgot where wires go on new Ignition Harness
Hello BNaylor! Thank you for your reply. I finally ordered a book specific to the year of my car. Sorry I did not respond sooner....banging my head against the wall with back pain, frustration and confusion. On top of that, I'm trying to get used to this wonderful AF format; I'm still learning my way around the system. Your help is appreciated! Still looking for any help anyone can give me. Thanks all!!
