Ferrari F2007 Revell Twin Build

Not made a post for a while so I thought it was about time.
I know these Revell kits are disliked by the hardcore F1 modelers but for me they are a fraction of the price of MFH or studio27 (and I dont have the skills to justify the cost of them...) and I enjoy buliding them.

Any way it was supposed to be just the one but when the alternate decals turned up rather than only use half and the kit comes with 3 Race options with differnt wings build two

Any way the first car is going to be Kimi's from the GB race so the relevent wings gluded on

primed and the first basecoat of silver on

Re: Ferrari F2007 Revell Twin Build

Looks good but I find it funny that sealing the plastic means putting the enemies color under the Ferrari red. Which is even more ironic when you think that McLaren was really the one running Ferrari secrets in their car.

So are the twins going to be different configs? Like one with barcodes and ones without?

Re: Ferrari F2007 Revell Twin Build

I think the silver coat is needed to achieve the new metalized red used on the Ferrari F1's, not for sealing the plastic.
I may be wrong though.

Re: Ferrari F2007 Revell Twin Build

Yeah the silver is a base to make the red more metallic. Just put a couple of coats on and not sure the shade is quite right though. The more I look the more the colour looks different in each and every the reference pics i have....

If you don't mind........., a hardcore F1 builder may be able to help with the color. Try TS21 Tamiya Gold as the base coat. Then Follow up with TS74 Tamiya Clear Red. The silver base coat, does not really give the color change that the gold does.

Just my $0.02

Right, Bahrain is the race won by Massa where they run with full livery!

Yep British GP and Bahrain GP it is then. It looks like both races use the lighter of the two reds used
