Blinkers won't come on and fuses good.
Please help me out. I have a 2001 and on Monday the blinkers all of a sudden just stopped working. The hazard lights will still work and all of the fuses are ok. What else should I check? It has been a bad week for my little car. On the same day it became very difficult to shift it out of park and the acceleration on drive is slower than normal. This is still a relatively new car, but I really hope I don't have to replace the tranny. Any ideas on either subject would be great.

It sounds like your turns signals are due to a flasher going bad - you can test this by turning on the signal and checking to see if the appropriate signal light comes on. If it lights up but does not flash you have found your problem. Typically there is a separate flasher for the turn signals and one for the emergency flashers. The fact that your emergency flashers are working indicates the signal lights and the wiring to them are likely fine leading me to the next most likely suspect - the flasher. A new flasher is fairly cheap <$20, typically they are located under the dash on the drivers side often above the brake pedal area in the vicinity of or sometime attached to the fuse block. My vehicles aren't as new as yours so I'll have to defer to others for ideas on your tranny and acceleration issues. |

First of all, thanks for the response. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Nothing comes on at all. Do you have any other suggestions?

flasher might still be bad, try swapping it with the hazard one if it will exchange or replace it

Re: Blinkers won't come on and fuses good.
Turns out it was related to the tranny problem. My park-neutral switch wires were frayed and causing the whole mess. For some reason it blows the fuse labeled for the back up lights not the blinkers. A little confusing, but both problems were fixed at once so I am a happy camper. With gas approaching 4.20 a gallon I need my silver bullet.
