Strange AC Happening

Hello Folks,
I have a 2002 24V with 42425 on the clock. Yesterday, I went to Home Depot, came out and the A/C would not blow cold? Turned it on and off seveal times and same thing would come on but NO cold air. Then I went to Walmart came out, turned on the AC and BINGO,
Cold Air????????? The rest of the day and today, always has had a cold air.

Hope this is not a sign of something coming up down the road.

Does your Taurus have the manual (knob) controls or the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC)?

The various doors and flaps in the manual system are vacuum actuated. If there is a problem with vacuum to the system, that could cause what you describe or if the blend door is binding, that could be the problem as well.

Unfortunately these are a bit difficult to troubleshoot when they are so intermittant.

All is working good for the past two days so I think I will just not try and fix what aint broke. Thanks as always Rod for your help!!
