Re: 2002 windstar
Front rotors have factory torx head.. Not sure on the size torx bit needed but you will need one.. You do not have to use those bolts anymore.. Just take them out and throw them away.. The new rotor may not even come with those holes.. But there are torx bolts near the lug area that hold the rotor on when going down manufacture line when it was being built.. Torx head is like a star type head.. hope this helps..

Re: 2002 windstar
Of course, the moving half of the brake caliper has to come off also. Can be done easily ... the 2 slide-bolts. Or can be done the hard way ... the mounting bolts for the whole caliper. (Assuming your model is similar to my '99 ... which it may not be!)

Re: 2002 windstar
I have a series of pictures that show the front brake pad & rotor replacement process on my '96.
Take note that I am NOT a mechanic......but this should give you some guidance. My rotors had been replaced before.....so I did not have the "torx" screws to hold them on (as mentioned....they are used ONLY on the OEM at the factory to aid in the assembly line process). http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1327...11220610zyKeJn

Re: 2002 windstar
the factory torx screw is a T-40 according to one of my receipts. it's not on there very tight at all. I bought the $4 bit and it turned quickly and had my OEM rotors turned and i was back in business.
