camaro wont stay idle =[

Hey. I have a 92 RS, it's a stock 25th anniv camaro. I've had it for about 4 years and I did used to race the car alot. Finally, I blew the tranny...got it and my engine rebuilt back to where it was and now the car starts up, but soon as you move it into gear it dies. The car will get lucky and run a few miles, but after that it will die. A few goofy mechanics told me my computer in the car isn't cooperative. Any suggestions!?

If the computer was going bad, it probably would have given you a check engine light with the code. ..How many miles on your car? Im assuming this is a v8? TPI? TBI? How does the car idle?

Oh ok, and I have prolly 125,000 but the car usually runs great! And yes its a v8 305tbi, the car idles fine when first started. Then once you put the car in gear it will automatically die. I've tried just about everything to fix it, and replaced all the small parts that usually matter.

What shape is the trans in? Could you have a torque converter clutch that does not release?

Well I got my tranny rebuilt, and a new altinator, starter, starter switch, etc. and its a automatic....
