won't start

I just replaced the LIM gaskets on my 2001 Malibu. I hooked up battery and it will crank but will not start. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key on. The theft light does not blink or stay on. When you turn it over to try and start it the theft light goes out. The radio stations that I had set before I took the battery out are still set when I hooked it back up. I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and it runs for about 10 seconds then dies. So it seems like a fuel problem to me. I disconnected the fuel rails on the ends and left the injectors in when I did the job. I put a new fuel regulator in yesterday and it still does not start. I bought all the parts from the dealer with bolts. I rechecked all of the connections to all of the sensors to make sure they were right. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: won't start

Can you put a OBDII scanner on to read any codes with just the key on or does the car have to be running?

I've been on this site for a little while under the name Dalt10 but could not get my password to log on. I had to re-register. I've read alot of the post on the Passlock and replacing the LIM gaskets.

Re: won't start

You should have power to the injectors, the ground is the control through the PCM. Recheck your wiring, you didn't hook something back up.

Re: won't start

Got the OBDII scanner. It said that the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor was bad). I replaced it. The codes are clear now. But it still does not start. I have not checked the fuel pressure. It was not getting fuel to the fuel rail before. I can push on the pressure relief valve now and gas does come out of it. It did not before. I unplugged all of the wires and replugged them in. Still nothing. Cranks but will not start. I did not unplug the injectors and replug them back in because I would have to take the upper intake off again.

Re: won't start

Fuel pump went out. I replaced it yesterday and started right up. It just happened to go out the same time I replaced the LIM gaskets.
