Thanks. MT |

Re: 2003 Rear Wheel Bearing
Jack up vehicle and place on jack stands.
Remove wheel, brakes and rotor. Remove rear end cover.(Have pan there to catch all grease) Place vehicle in neutral. Use 5/16 or 8mm wrench to remove locking bolt from pin. Be careful, these can break fairly easily. Remove pin from rear end. You may need to spin driveshaft to get pin to line up so it will come out. Push in on axle so you can remove the locking "C" clip. Remove axle Remove axle seal. Use puller to remove old bearing. When installing, the bearing is easily seated back in the axle. A few light taps with hammers will seat it. Just be sure to hit on outside portion of bearing. Install new seal with hammer again. Just go flush with axle. Then instal axle, pin, locking bolt. Clean rear cover, use silicone gasket maker as seal. Fill up rear end with proper grease. Install brakes, wheel, remove from jack stands and have a beverage of your choice. You have completed the repair.
