98 concorde gremlins
we have a 98 concorde that has a 24 valve 300m 3.5.. It came factory with the 2.7, but when that died at 48,000, the 300m engine was replaced.. WE have put approx 30,000 on car,, last summer the AC quit but it was fall so I did not mess with it til this summer.. Upon shop inspection it turned out that the radiator fan had locked up, so neither fan worked, amazingly enough the car never got hot, even after a 500 mile trip!! Anyways I replaced the fan assembly and a couple days later I got a check engine code p1698.. The car has experienced no stalling or missing and the tranny shifts fine,, I have no reason to think that the computers are bad.. My temp, tach and speedo, sometimes work sometimes they don't,, sometimes 2 out of the three will work,, sometimes they will be on for an entire day,, sometimes they wont work for and entire day.. Also when the guages are on , I can set cruise and it willl stay engaged even when the guages quit,, but if the guages are not working I cannot set it.. Finally when the guages are not working my gas guage is erratic, say if it has a quarter tank, when I come to a stop, it wil go to empty and then creep back.. I think I have a loose ground,, I am not sure where they all are,, anybody got any input as to locations it would be great!!!
