93 Regal-major hesitation
93 Regal 3800 V6 - The car has sat overnight. It starts great in the morning, but when I accelerate onto the street, the engine alternates between balking and leaping ahead. Does this for about 2-3 blocks, then runs like a dream. Runs good all day until it has sat for a while again. What might this be?

Re: 93 Regal-major hesitation
DId it start doing this after a rain or extreme temp change? Any check engine light coming on, and if so, what codes are stored?

Re: 93 Regal-major hesitation
I appreciate your interest.
1. Come to think of it, I shampooed the engine several days before it started. Again, it bucks only for a couple of blocks after being shut down for a while. 2. No engine light.

Re: 93 Regal-major hesitation
My 3800 was doing this. Found out it was the pressure sensor was cracked leading into the PCV valve. Check those both out and make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks anywhere.

Re: 93 Regal-major hesitation
How old is the tune-up (plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter)? It may just be time . If those have been replaced recently, then I would check the IAC valve for carbon build up.
