A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
Well If this was one problem I had it figured out. But while sitting to have the car washed at an automatic washer yesterday I had a problem. I have a 2003 GC Laredo-4.0-55K Miles. The A/C starting blowing warm and at the same time the coolant temp went up to MAX. When I started to drive again everything returned to normal. Any ideas.

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
You cooling fan is not turning on or you have a bad fan clutch. you should have electric fan tho - so your problem is with the fan not coming on.

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
Thank you. That gives me somewhere to start. But the circuit that controls that isn't on the fan is it?

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
There are several threads about the temperature sensor replacement and how-to's, do a quick search and you'll find them.

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
A bad Temperature Sensor is a possible, but as dk indicated, the fan or Fan Relay is the usual suspect on '99-'04 Grands.
This thread should help. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t746537.html |

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
Bob D, you're right on....fan relay often the culprit.

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
Ok, I have the relay but haven't had a chance to replace it yet. But it happened again. Someone else was driving the jeep, came to a stop light, the temp shot up to 260, then once they started to drive the temp came down half way. But the A/C didn't get warm this time. They were right next to a shop so I told them to stop in and have it looked at real quick. oh boy oh boy. Besides the usual recommendations they said that the thermostate was sticking. I know that is a possiblitiy. But I was thinking the thermostat but for some reason I had in my head what happens when the thermostat sticks open. Any more info.

Re: A/C blowing warm/Engine High temp
If the T-Stat is stuck open it will take a long time for the Temperature to get up to operating temp and most times this will be followed by a CHECK ENGINE light - which will tell you the engine was too cold for too long.
I would stick with the Fan, not coming on, being the culprit for now. And there is no way for them to be sure the THERMOSTAT is sticking unless they removed it and checked it.
