Helmets?
Hey! Im planning on doing some time trails, autocross, n some other races with some clubs (like SCCA) soon and im wondering about helmets. Im also about to get my motorcycle lisence which requires me to get a helmet. Is a motorcycle helmet as safe as a racing helmet? Would the motorcycle helmet allowed during these types of races? sorry about the amount of questions. any advise will greatly be appreciated. thanks!

Re: Helmets?
I don't know much about helmets but I do know that they are designed for very high tolerances in case you decide to smash your head on the pavement.
I don't see why you couldn't use a cycle helmet. |

Re: Helmets?
yeah just get a motorcycle helmet.
I got a full-face one for 120 bucks at my local motorcycle dealer. you can also get an Autocrossing helmet but those look whack cause they only cover the top and side of your noggin. the Motorcycle full face helmet is also good for Time trials, road racing, drag strip ect.. while the AutoX half helmet is not allowed at most other venues. ask away bro, thats what we are here for.

Re: Helmets?
Most road racing sanctioning bodies do NOT allow Motorcycle "M"-rated helmets.
However, most dragstrips and autocross groups do for drivers of street-driven cars.
