Re: Do taurus'es really blow up at 90k miles?
The 3.2L was introduced for the 1993 model year and only available with the automatic transmission. In 1996, with the significantly redesigned exterior, Ford switched to the V8 which had problems with the cam gears walking. A common preventive repair was to weld the cam gear to the camshaft to prevent the walking. You didn't want just anyone doing this though as it was possible to warp critical parts and end up in worse shape than before starting the weld job.
It appears that it's time to close this thread.... -Rod |
